TECHNIP – Simulation of an oil plant

To figure the availability of an FPSO oil rig (FPSO: Floating, Production, Storage and Offloading Unit) in terms of percentages of oil production, gas to be exported, and gas to be reinjected during the plateau period, and:
  • without taking the preventive maintenance operations into account
  • by taking the preventive maintenance operations into account

  • Starting from a dynamic modelling integrating the reliability and maintainability data of the system, APSYS has worked out:
    the number of production hours for oil production levels of 100%, 75%, 50%, 25% and 0%
    the number of full stops (oil production of 0%) and partial stops (oil production of 25%, 50% and 75%) per year
    the average yearly value of the quantity of gas burnt by flare
    the most important participants in the oil production losses (the most critical equipment items)
  • With those bases in mind, improvement main lines will then be proposed.

The APSYS system approach in the fields of dynamic simulation and Dependability studies;

The knowledge of the processes applied to the oil rig;

The disposal of the SIMFIA V2 environment project which allows a simple dynamic simulation of complex systems
