The TOTAL Refinery in Normandy is an establishment classified Seveso High Threshold on the account of the ICPE legislation, and as such it must review the danger studies of its units every 5 years.

Within this framework, APSYS works with TOTAL towards the revision of the danger studies of units so as to:
• integrate the modifications of the installations since the writing of the last file,
• take into account the latest regulation demands (Orders of September 29th, 2005…).

The danger analysis carried out consists of an inventory of the dangers the installations may present in case of accident:

• by presenting a description of the accidents likely to occur,
• by describing the nature and the extension of the consequences,
• by precising the measures suitable for reducing the probability and the effects of an accident.

This study also aims to precise the internal and external means of intervention available in case of disaster.
